Dev’s Laboratory – Battle Report 6

Dev’s Laboratory is the event where you can decide “the configuration of both sides of a battle”, and the ROK team will carry out this battle with the settings you chose, and then share a detailed analysis of the battle report and the results with you to use as a reference. Now, it’s time for today’s battle report and analysis from 2 players.

Configurations:

Blue: Gideon + the Faceless Knight; Skills: Infantry Attack + Infantry Defense + Pike Wall; 100K Shieldmen + 200K Rear Units

Red: Kavehn + Aderyn; Skills: Cavalry Attack + Cavalry Defense + Rush Attack; 100K Shieldmen + 200K Rear Units

Group Analysis:

The blue group is a cost-effective infantry group that combines Gideon and the Faceless Knight, an ordinary team of gold and orange heroes.

The red group is a cost-effective cavalry group that combines Kavehn and Aderyn, another pretty ordinary team of gold and orange heroes.

Both groups utlized the “Shieldmen and Rear Units” attack mode. This mode relies on the shieldmen taking damage at the front while the rear units deal damage over them to the enemy.

For hero attributes, the infantry prevailed here because the shieldmen, belonging to infantry, enjoy a bonus from the infantry heroes. From previous battle report analysis, you should be able to guess how this battle turned out.

Skill Analysis:

For the skills, rear units of both groups share approximately the same bonuses, without any extraordinary functional skills. The only exception is Aderyn, whose lancer has a chance of ignoring enemy defense and mounted archer’s critical rate is increased. But the spearmen’s skill grants them a chance of attacking lancers or mounted archers directly and to deal extra damage to such troops. With the Pike Wall skill, there’s a 50% chance of attacking the cavalry directly in each round, meanwhile the Rush Attack of the cavalry is ineffective on the spearmen. If the attributes and troop power of both sides are about the same, this minor inefficiency makes it very difficult for the cavalry to win.

Summary:

Based on the combat report, the infantry troops won easily with few casualties. With the cavalry being restrained by the infantry because spearmen have a chance to attack lancers directly, those poor lancers had little recourse to attack the spearmen, limiting their power and earning them the L.
